For Sir Harrison Birtwistle’s 80th birthday, we asked a few key figures from the London Sinfonietta’s past and present to give us their favourite memories of working with Harry:

    Over this weekend, the Southbank Centre will be celebrating Sir Harrison Birtwistle’s 80th birthday. Tonight’s concert by the London Sinfonietta and the Royal Academy of Music Manson Ensemble will perform five of his works, including a world premier. The London Sinfonietta have been long-term collaborators with Sir Harrison. Here are some interesting insights into their relationship.
